Mission says council has earmarked $1,874,335 in its 2027 budget for six firefighters and four municipal support positions for the RCMP. The city says recruitment work is starting; the four police-support positions are not four additional sworn officers.
The Township lists October 17, 2026 as general local election day. Its election hub brings together voting information and locations. These are Township resources; Langley City is a separate municipality with its own election information.
Chawathil First Nation and the Fraser Valley Regional District have signed a memorandum of understanding. The district describes it as a step to strengthen relations between the two governments. The announcement does not itself establish a new funding programme or service entitlement.
